Day of Shining Star to Be Marked in Russia

Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- A preparatory committee for celebrating the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (Day of the Shining Star) was formed by the Khabarovsk Territorial Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation on Jan. 30.

First Secretary Alexandr Gromov of the committee was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize diverse political and cultural events in praise of the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
