Crucial Proposal, Open Letter of NDC of DPRK Supported by Koreans in China
Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- The Shenyang City branch of the General Association of Koreans in China issued a statement on Jan. 27 in support of the crucial proposal and open letter of the National Defence Commission (NDC) of the DPRK.

The statement said:

The NDC of the DPRK sent an open letter to the authorities, political parties, social organizations and people of south Korea in the wake of making a crucial proposal to take a practical measure of halting all acts of provoking and slandering each other on the occasion of the Lunar New Year's Day. This is a bold decision for establishing a climate for improved north-south relations.

Very just is the proposal for putting an end to slander and military hostile acts in order to remove north-south discord and improve inter-Korean relations.

The joint military drills for aggression with outside forces that displease Korea's reunification and try to stifle the DPRK by force of arms are dangerous ones bringing nuclear disaster to the Korean nation.

The south Korean authorities should stop the groundless assertion that the large-scale war exercises aiming at occupying Pyongyang are "annual and defensive ones" and make a bold decision to halt all military hostile acts against fellow countrymen.

All Koreans in China will turn out as one in the nationwide struggle for implementing the patriotic proposal for reunification set forth by the DPRK to oppose a war and pave the way of improved north-south relations from the standpoint of By Our Nation Itself.
