Halt to Military Hostile Acts Called for: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- Military hostile acts of bringing nothing but harm to the north-south relations and the Korean nation should be immediately halted and a durable peace should be settled on the Korean peninsula.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in an article.

The crucial proposal and an open letter published by the National Defence Commission of the DPRK are being supported and welcomed by all Koreans at home and abroad and the international community as they are patriotic measures to terminate the tragic history of the nation's division as early as possible and bring about a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity, the article says, and goes on:

All military hostile acts of getting on the nerves of the other side and threatening each other should be completely stopped.

The end to the military hostile acts makes it possible to fundamentally eradicate distrust and confrontation and truly improve the north-south relations while promoting the national reconciliation and unity.

The military hostile acts are a great hurdle causing distrust and confrontation against the radical improvement of the inter-Korean relations.

Dialogue and establishment of a climate are needed for improving the inter-Korean relations, but what is more important is to put an end to military hostile acts, the main hurdles.

It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to reunify the country peacefully through dialogue and negotiations, neither by use of armed forces nor through a war.

Mending the inter-Korean relations will surely lead to the independent reunification, peace and prosperity desired by all Koreans.
