Rodong Sinmun Calls for Having Right Stand to Improved North-South Ties
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- It is the steadfast resolution of the DPRK to improve the north-south relations as early as possible, put an end to the inglorious confrontation, relieve Koreans from suffering resulting from the division of the country and pave a wide avenue for national reunification, peace and prosperity by their concerted efforts. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in an article.

It goes on:

Whether the north-south relations are mended or not entirely depends on with what attitude the north and the south opt for settling the issue.

The north-south relations can never be improved by the efforts of the one side.

It is important to boldly abandon confrontation with fellow countrymen and actively make a climate for reconciliation and unity in improving the inter-Korean relations as intended and demanded by the nation.

The north-south relations are not the ties between countries, but special ones in which the one nation with the same blood has lived separated temporarily. Distrust and misunderstanding have grown deeper within the nation in the long-standing confrontation between the north and the south, but distrust and misunderstanding can be removed if the north and the south have the right conception of fellow countrymen.

Now all Koreans wait for a good news that an epochal phase of improved north-south relations will be open.

The authorities of the north and the south should clearly see such mindset of the people and make sincere efforts to bring the hope and joy of reunification to all Koreans.
