Cities to Be Given Face-lift in DPRK
| Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- Big efforts will be channeled to face-lifting cities in the DPRK this year.
In this regard, KCNA met Hyon Myong Gon, a department director of the Ministry of Urban Management.
A new upturn will be made in urban management this year through a drive for implementing the tasks set forth by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address.
The management will be focused on sprucing up Pyongyang and other cities and townships across the country.
A number of apartments and public buildings will be coated on a fresh basis on their outer walls to suit the characteristics of streets.
Good species of trees and turfs will be planted on a nationwide scale.
The country plans to build more parks and pleasure grounds. Also, works will be carried out to put supply of drinking water on a normal basis and increase the capacity of sewage disposal.
In rural areas, dwelling houses will be repaired with tiles produced by localities.
Thorough measures will be taken to prevent flood damages while afforestation and greening will gain momentum.
