Rodong Sinmun Slams U.S. Arms Buildup in Asia-Pacific
Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- The U.S. arms buildup in the Asia-Pacific region is aimed to dominate the region, not for peace and defence, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in an article.

It goes on:

The DPRK is the primary target of the U.S. arms buildup in the region.

It is the strategic goal of the U.S. to invade the DPRK, bring its neighboring countries under its control with it as a stepping-stone and, furthermore, dominate the whole Asia-Pacific region.

The U.S. is amassing huge forces including nuclear weapons in south Korea and its vicinity, asserting that the Korean Peninsula is a place vital for carrying out its pivot to Asia-Pacific policy.

The aim of the U.S. arms buildup in south Korea is not confined to this. It is the U.S. scenario to ignite a nuclear war through beefed-up forces.

The U.S. is working hard to kick off large-scale joint military drills this year, too, for the purpose of mounting a preemptive nuclear attack upon the DPRK.

These U.S. moves are creating such a dangerous situation on the peninsula that a nuclear war may break out at any moment.

If the nuclear war breaks out on the peninsula, it will be bound to rapidly spill over to vast areas of the region.

With no rhetoric can the U.S. evade the responsibility for having escalated tension in the region or justify its arms buildup for invading and dominating regional countries.
