DPRK-China Joint Art Performance Marks Spring Festival
Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- A DPRK-China joint art performance was given at the concert hall of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory on Tuesday to mark this year's spring festival.

It was co-sponsored by the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, the Central Committee of the Korea-China Friendship Association, the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the Chinese embassy here.

Among the audience were Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Kang Ha Guk, minister of Public Health who doubles as chairman of the Central Committee of the Korea-China Friendship Association, officials of ministries and national institutions, artistes, sports persons and citizens of Pyongyang.

Also present there to enjoy the performance were Ambassador Liu Hongcai and staff members of the Chinese embassy, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international bodies, their spouses and Chinese guests here.

Prior to the performance, Kang Ha Guk and the Chinese ambassador made speeches.

Then began the joint art performance given by teachers and students of the conservatory and members of the Jilin Provincial Song and Dance Ensemble of China.

Korean artistes truthfully represented mixed trio and pangchang "Ode to the Motherland", female solo "People Are United in Single Mind," female folk solo "Moran Hill", Chinese song "Qingzang Plateau" and other numbers, deeply impressing the audience.

Chinese artistes staged dance "Beautiful China" and saenap solo "Birds Greet Phoenix" and other numbers while musicians successfully presented Korean song "Platycodon."

The performance ended with chorus "DPRK-China friendship will last forever ". It offered a good occasion in boosting the traditional friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.
