Rodong Sinmun Calls for Establishing Climate for Improved North-South Relations
Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- To establish a climate for improved inter-Korean relations is an urgent matter in the light of not only the desire of the fellow countrymen but also the requirement of the changed situation for achieving the reconciliation, unity, reunification and prosperity of the nation as soon as possible.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in an article.

It goes on:

Now all compatriots in the north, the south and abroad are hoping for propelling the fresh progress in the efforts for national unity and the movement for national reunification through the improvement of the inter-Korean relations.

The north and the south have potentiality enough for solving their problems as desired by them and this has already been proved through the struggle waged in the June 15 era of reunification.

The priority issue essential in establishing a climate for improved inter-Korean relations is to put an end to slander, calumny and hostility among compatriots.

As long as the provocation and slander against the DPRK continue, it will never be possible to establish a favorable climate but only the confrontation and feud will continue. If they are allowed to go on, it will lead to a war between the north and the south in the end.

Consistent is the attitude of the DPRK towards the national reunification, a long-cherished desire of the nation, and the improvement of the inter-Korean relations. The DPRK will stand with anybody who loves the nation and wants reunification regardless of his or her past records and make positive efforts to establish a climate for improved inter-Korean relations this year, too.
