Coal Output on Increase in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- Coal output is on the increase in the DPRK.

According to data available at the Ministry of Coal Industry, coal mines across the country have overfulfilled their quota at 123 percent on a daily average as of January 10.

By applying advanced methods of blasting, the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine and Chonsong Youth Coal Mine under the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex have carried out daily tunneling quota at above 100 percent.

Jenam, Namyang and other coal mines under the Tokchon Area Coal Mining Complex have overfulfilled daily assignments at 124 percent.

The Inpho Coal Mine has put the production on a steady increase by operating cableway at full capacity.

Production upsurge has also been made at collieries under the Anju Area and Kujang Area coal mining complexes.

Ri Yong Yong, vice-minister of Coal Industry, told KCNA that the ministry has set higher target of coal output this year.

All officials of the ministry have found themselves among coal miners to inspire them to carry out the tasks set forth by Marshal Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address, he said, adding:

A great importance has been attached to the supply of machinery and materials to collieries in the western part of the country, which have large deposits with favorable mining conditions.
