Construction Workers Inspired by New Year Address
Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK, said in his New Year Address that construction is an important front for solidifying the foundations of a thriving country and creating bases for the people's happy life.

Encouraged by the address, construction workers in the country are now fully determined to open up a new heyday in construction.

In recent years a lot of monumental edifices symbolic of the Songun (military-first) era have been built in different parts of the country.

All the edifices were designed to meet the people's emotion and aesthetic feelings, which are flawless in their ideological and artistic value as well as their utility.

The construction has been put on a higher industrial basis with modern construction equipment and tools.

Last year, Kim Jong Un sent to the officials and workers in the field of construction workers the historic letter "Let Us Usher in the Period of Great Prosperity in Construction by Thoroughly Embodying Party's Idea on Juche-based Architecture".

In the letter, he praised them as scouts and pioneers with the honorable duty to take the lead in paving a way for prosperity of Songun Korea and happiness of people, expressing his deep trust in them.

In hearty response to the New Year Address, service personnel and builders are making innovations in major projects, including the dormitory of the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill and the cascade power stations along the River Chongchon.

The builders are employing advanced construction methods to suit specific features of each project.

The Sangwon Cement Complex, Pyongyang Plastic Building-materials Factory, Pyongyang Timber Mill and other building-materials factories are boosting the production of cement, precast concrete parts and building parts.

Officials in the Ministry of Construction and Building-Materials Industry have also turned out in materializing the Workers' Party of Korea's grand plan on construction.
