S. Korean Regime's Distortion of History to Revive "Yusin" Dictatorship Assailed
Pyongyang, January 9 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore in an editorial on Jan. 6 decried the puppet regime's moves to distort history geared to reviving the "yusin" dictatorship.

History textbooks eulogizing sycophancy and dictatorship were rejected by schools across south Korea, the editorial said, adding:

The present regime is responsible for this but it has not yet made an apology.

Moreover, Park Geun Hye in a New Year press conference said the existing textbooks carry prejudiced ideological content.

In June last year when the majority of students polled described the June 25 Korean war as a "war of aggression on the north", Park said the education is misguided and that it is undesirable to see facts and history being distorted.

Park's distortion of history got into full swing since then with a design to give a high profile to Park Chung-Hee.

It is important not to cater for the tastes of the chief executive and the ruling quarters in writing history textbooks.
