For the past five decades since its foundation on Dec. 26, Juche 52 (1963), it has guaranteed scientifically and technologically the development of the giant base for the production of nonferrous metal ore in the area of Tanchon.

The scientists and officials of the institute successfully solved the scientific and technological problems arising in putting the mining and nonferrous metal industry on a Juche-oriented and modern basis.

They also carried out to their credit the scientific and technological tasks of studying and introducing new method of blasting and putting the production process on a modern basis.

A meeting to mark the anniversary took place on Wednesday.

Present there were officials concerned, scientists and employees of the institute.

A congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the scientists and employees of the institute was read out at the meeting.
