Railway Trade Union's Strike Supported in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- Organizations of workers, media persons, religionists, persons of culture and arts and others in south Korea held a joint press conference in Seoul on Monday in connection with the puppet regime's intensified suppression of the Railway Trade Union.

At the conference they insisted on the justice of the strike launched by the union against the privatization.

It is little short of the violence dating back to the era of the "yusin" dictatorial rule that the regime is suppressing the just actions of workers by government power, they held.

The union persists in its strike because the regime and the political camp have made no efforts to meet the workers' demands, they added.

They urged the regime to halt its clampdown upon the union and stop its moves to privatize the railway service.

In case the regime turns down those demands, the organizations will escalate the actions of the union into all-people resistance, they warned.
