S. Korean Organizations Demand Abolition of SL and Release of Detainees
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Members of south Korean civic and public organizations including the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the Association of Victims of the "Security Law" held a meeting in Seoul on December 8 as regards the authorities' unreasonable suppression.

Speakers at the meeting said that candlelight actions are sweeping across south Korea to demand the probe into the truth about the case of the Intelligence Service's interference in the election.

They said that the authorities are busy cracking down on the participants in the actions by labeling them "forces following the north" and, at the same time, resorting to the indiscriminate suppression of the reunification movement.

They noted that they will struggle against the unreasonable suppression by the authorities.

They strongly demanded the implementation of the inter-Korean joint declarations and release of detainees and prisoners of conscience including members of the organizations for the reunification movement.
