A drive for face-lifting roads made brisk headway. Roads extending more than 1,200 km were improved and new roads extending over 100 km built.

Projects for improving rivers and streams progressed apace in different parts of the country.

More than 220 rivers and streams were improved. Repairing the embankments along the River Jangja and other projects for preventing flood damage went full steam ahead.
