They are fully supporting the purge of the group of present-day factionists from the party and revolutionary ranks, as it reflected the will of all the people to maintain the purity of the party and revolutionary ranks in the historic period for carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche and accomplish the cause of the Korean revolution pioneered in Mt. Paektu.

The WPK is a revolutionary party for working masses, founded and strengthened by the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, who regarded it as their lifetime motto to believe in the people as in Heaven. As a party representing and protecting the interests of the people and faithfully serving them, the WPK set it as its ultimate goal to completely realize independence of the popular masses and as an overriding principle of its activities to steadily improve the people's livelihood.

For decades the WPK could always display its invincible might with full support and deep trust from the popular masses as it was guided by the Generalissimos who comprehensively reflected the people's will and demand in adopting any policy and line.

That is why all the party members and other people have devotedly defended the unity and cohesion of the Party, based on one ideology and unitary leadership, in every period of trials, regarding it as their life.

The party members in the period of the 1950-1953 Fatherland Liberation War worked hard to allay President Kim Il Sung's apprehensions about rehabilitation and construction, and in the postwar period the party members and other workers took the lead in purging anti-party, counter-revolutionary factional elements and establishing the monolithic ideological system within the party, declaring that they would throw into an electric furnace those slandering the WPK's line of economic construction.

In the 1960s the servicepersons, including the party members, turned out in an anti-factionist campaign, shouting "Let us defend with our very lives the Party Central Committee headed by the respected Comrade Kim Il Sung!"

Cherishing the truth that the rosy future of the party and the revolution depends on succession to the monolithic ideological and leadership system, the army and people in the 1970s thoroughly established the monolithic system of guidance by Kim Jong Il in the whole party and society.

With such steadfast revolutionary spirit, the DPRK people could successfully conclude the Arduous March, the forced march, in the 1990s when the country was in hard time.

Under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un, the popular character of the WPK has well been preserved and eye-catching achievements made in the efforts for building a thriving nation.

What grows stronger in the mind of the people is the belief that although there are manifold difficulties and trials and enormous tasks to be carried out, the WPK and the Korean revolution are sure to emerge victorious as they are led by Kim Jong Un.

Nevertheless, Jang Song Thaek and his group betrayed the people and dared challenge the revolution by negating the WPK's unitary leadership.

As the past anti-party, counter-revolutionary factionists did, Jang and his group, bereft of the elementary sense of moral obligation and conscience as human being, pretended to uphold the party and leader in public but played a double game behind the scene, hindering the cause of the Party and people in a crafty way.

Such human dregs' disobedience to the demand of the people and the revolution went beyond the tolerance limit, so the WPK dealt a telling blow at them in time.

The WPK will, in the future, too, never pardon anyone who dares infringe upon the interests of the party, the state and the people, regardless of his or her position and merits.

Merciless punishment to the heinous traitors is just the demand of the revolution and the people.

The tradition of single-minded unity, provided by the great men of Mt. Paektu, will remain invariable no matter how desperately a handful of factionists may try to spoil it, as it took its roots deep in the hearts of the people, standing all sorts of trials in the history of the Korean revolution.

The purge of the modern-day factionists has made purer the WPK and revolutionary ranks that uphold Kim Jong Un only as the center of unity and leadership.

The revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered in Mt. Paektu will advance more dynamically towards the final victory.
