S. Korean Organizations Declare Actions for Protecting Progressive Teachers Organization
Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union and the Action for Protecting Democratic Education and the Teachers Union in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Tuesday denouncing the "government" authorities for moving to stamp out the progressive teachers organization.

At the press conference speakers said that the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to crack down on the Teachers Union.

A teacher deprived of the basic right of human being can not teach students democracy, they said, adding they will struggle against the unreasonable suppression so that the Teachers Union may fully enjoy the right as a trade union.

They urged the authorities to totally cancel the measure to stamp out the progressive teachers organization and halt the suppression.

At the press conference the organizations declared that they launch overall actions denouncing the authorities for cracking down on the trade union of teachers and distorting history textbook in the name of 21,865 teachers and parents of students.
