DPRK Will Strengthen Cooperation with Asian Countries
Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Vice-Chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK Kim Wan Su, head of the SPA delegation, made a speech at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Pakistan on December 9.

He said that all parliaments of the member nations of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly should make all efforts to successfully carry out their missions in the struggle for building Asia that makes independent, peaceful and sustained development.

He went on:

The DPRK government and people set the building of an economic power and the improvement of the people's standard of living as their general goal. So, stable and peaceful environment is very precious and essential for the DPRK.

The U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK is to blame for the vicious cycle of escalated tension that periodically repeats on the Korean Peninsula, and the only way for ensuring durable peace on the peninsula is to put an end to the U.S. policy.

Consistent is the stand of the DPRK to terminate the escalating tension on the peninsula in a peaceful way through dialogue and negotiations and make a contribution to peace and security in Northeast Asia.

Reunifying the country is the greatest desire and supreme task for the Korean nation.

Though severe challenges still lie ahead of the DPRK in its efforts for achieving the national reunification and the peaceful development of the country, its people will surely bring a final victory, rallied close around supreme leader Kim Jong Un in one mind.

The DPRK will steadily develop the good relations with all countries friendly to it in the idea of independence, peace and friendship and always strengthen the cooperation with Asian countries on the preferential basis, in particular.
