Korean in U.S. Praises Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, December 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Hyon Hwan, director of the Institute of Koreans in the U.S. for Independent Idea, posted an article on the website of the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. on Dec. 6 on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Il, born in Mt. Paektu, conducted ideological and theoretical activities with his rare wisdom for decades, performing undying revolutionary exploits for the country, nation, times and history with his outstanding leadership art and virtue, the article said, and went on:

Kim Jong Il was a great statesman.

He defended socialism of Juche peculiar to the DPRK with his matchless grit and courage and preeminent strategy, courageously countering the imperialist allied forces' policy of isolating and stifling it.

He was an indomitable and brilliant Songun commander who honorably protected the sovereignty of the country and dignity of the nation and put the national power on the highest level under the uplifted banner of Songun.

He was a patriot who dedicated himself to the building of a thriving nation with warm love for the country and its people.

Prompted by his desire to translate into reality the strong wish of the fellow countrymen to lead a happy life in a reunified country, he ushered in the June 15 era of reunification, in which such noble idea of independence as "By our nation itself" came true.

He firmly defended socialism under the banner of independence and justice and set an example to be followed by the peoples while building socialism, thus steadily advancing the human cause of independence and the cause of socialism.

The article lauded him as a great statesman, passionate revolutionary and iron-willed commander.
