Promising DPRK Woman Marathoner
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- DPRK woman marathoner Kim Mi Gyong, 23, breasted the tape at the 2013 Macao International Marathon.

Her record was 02:36:32.

It is not the first time for the DPRK marathoners to win at the Macao International Marathon, which took place 32 times up to now. Phyo Un Suk (female) came first in 2006 and 2007 and Ri Kum Song (male) in 2007.

Kim Mi Gyong, a player of the Ministry of Light Industry, was born in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province.

When she was 13 years old, she finished second in the 10-km race of a national sports contest. Four years later, she grabbed bronze medals in 5 000-meter and 10 000-meter races of the Asian Athletic Championship.

She also proved successful at the IAAF-25th and 26th Mangyongdae Prize marathons held in last year and this year.

Experts regard her as a promising marathoner.

Her aim is to hold the world championship.
