Coal Output Goes Up in DPRK
Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- All the employees of the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine in the DPRK have turned out in the efforts to increase the coal production, determined to implement the behests of leader Kim Jong Il to the letter.

In August Juche 98 (2009) Kim Jong Il visited the mine, which takes a big share in the country's coal production.

Its manager Pho Hwi Song told KCNA:

During his visit to the coal mine, leader Kim Jong Il expressed great satisfaction over its efforts for technical improvement and modernization as well as drastically increased production. And he set forth the tasks to be carried out by the mine.

Keeping his sunny smile in their mind, the employees of the mine are now overfulfilling their daily coal production plan while giving precedence to tunneling to provide enough reserve cutting faces.

Coal miners of Pits 5, 8, 9 and 12 take the lead in this increased production drive, mining several hundred tonnes of coal more than their daily plan. The Youth Pit and other pits are also fulfilling the daily production plan at 130 percent.

Meanwhile, the coal mine is pressing ahead with a project for turning it into a leading coal producer of the country.
