Chinese Paper Introduces Performance Given by Pyongyang Art Troupe
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Chinese People's Daily in an article titled "Azaleas in full bloom in the city of spring" introduced a performance given by the Pyongyang Art Troupe.

The performance "Azalea" given by the troupe was a main program at the 13th Asian Art Festival held in Kunming in November, the article said, adding:

The Pyongyang Art Troupe provided a grand cultural event to present songs and dances with characteristics and flavor peculiar to the Korean national art to the foreign audience.

Against the background of blue sky, the dance "Fly High, Doves" was put on the stage before any others.

The audience was mesmerized by dynamic rhythm of "Dance with small drum" and "Dance with Janggu (hourglass drum)."

When the song "The Flower Girl" resounded forth at the theatre, the audience responded it with enthusiastic applause.

The Pyongyang Art Troupe, regarding it as its ideal to develop the arts characterized by national spirit, has created art works strong in national flavor and sense of the times and put them on the stage.
