Noting Kim Jong Il's demise was the great loss to the Korean people and the world progressives, the statement said:

When socialism collapsed in various countries and the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces clamored for "total finis of socialism", Kim Jong Il defended socialism and turned the DPRK into a strong fortress of independence against imperialism by enforcing the unique Songun politics. He was an iron-willed brilliant commander who protected the peace and security not only of the Korean Peninsula and but of the rest of the world.

Although he passed away, his cause is firmly carried forward by supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un is leading the Korean people to build a thriving nation, true to the idea and intention of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He has further consolidated the single-minded unity of the whole society by pursuing the politics of love for people and aroused the entire people to work miracles and make innovations in the drive for stepping up economic construction and improving people's standard of living.

As there are the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un and the people single-mindedly united around him, the thriving socialist nation where people's happiness is brought into full bloom will certainly be built in the DPRK.
