National Technical Innovation Contest Held
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- A national technical innovation contest of the April 15 technical innovation shock brigades was held to mark the 65th anniversary of the DPRK.

Participated there were the shock brigades of industrial establishments and cooperative farms across the country. The contest lasted from mid-February to early in September.

The shock brigades of the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex, the Puryong Ferroalloy Factory, the Sinrip Coal Mine of the Kaechon Area Coal-mining Complex and others made research achievements and technical innovations conducive to strengthening the material and technological foundations of the major industrial sectors and giving fullest play to the production potentials.

Shock brigade members of the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Processing Factory, the Sinuiju Streptomycin Factory, the Posok Cooperative Farm in Unjon County, the Hwangju County Farm Machine Station, the Sinchon County Food Administration Station and many other units have modernized and automated major production processes and equipment by putting production on a scientific and technological basis.

Industrial establishments across the country introduced thousands of valuable technological innovation proposals during the contest and thus contributed to strengthening the independence of the Juche-based industry and gave big interests to the state.

A ceremony for summing up the contest took place at the Grand People's Study House on Wednesday.

Present there were officials concerned, model shock brigade members and field officials.

The standings of the contest were announced and silk banners and citations were awarded to the units which proved successful at the contest.
