Joint Appeal Adopted at Intl. Meeting in Support of Struggle of WPK
Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- Participants in the 15th international meeting of communist and workers' parties held in Portugal made public a joint appeal on Sunday fully supporting the struggle of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the Korean people.

The WPK and the Korean people are advancing the cause of socialism while working hard to build an economic power and improve the people's living standard under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, the appeal said, and went on:

Stable and peaceful environment is dearer to the WPK and the Koreans as they set the building of an economic power and improvement of the people's living standard as their general goal.

The stand of the WPK and the DPRK government and their patient efforts to defuse the tension on the Korean Peninsula in a peaceful way through dialogue and negotiations and achieve regional peace and security are now facing a grave challenge of the hostile forces.

The U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK is a source of the vicious cycle of escalated tension on the peninsula.

It is a sacred duty of progressive humankind desirous of independence and global peace and security to support and encourage the just struggle of the Korean people dynamically advancing on the forefront for independence against imperialism and frustrate the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK.

We vehemently denounce the vicious moves of the U.S. and its followers to stifle socialism in Korea and call upon all the progressive parties and people across the world to turn out as one in the struggle to foil the imperialists' maneuvers and achieve independence.

We extend full support and solidarity to the WPK and the Korean people in their dynamic struggle to ensure peace and stability on the peninsula, build an economic power and improve the people's living standard under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un and appeal to the communist and workers' parties of various countries to support the Korean people's just cause.
