New Software Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The State Academy of Sciences of the DPRK has recently developed new software.

The Control Machine Institute under the Academy developed open-type PLC software for CNC-16. This software has been already applied to some industrial establishments, including the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex.

The Industrial Information Research Center of the Academy developed an integrated automation system for the Taedonggang Tile Factory.

According to its researcher O Chung Song, with this system the factory has put all its management activities from order of products to their sale on an IT basis.

The Geological Institute, too, produced information programs for prospecting and exploitation to reduce vain tunneling and repeated operation.

The Turf Research Center of the Academy presented a program needed for creating and cultivating lawn.

All of the programs were appreciated at the 24th Software Contest and Exhibition held in Pyongyang from October 29 to November 4.
