Korean People's Struggle for National Reunification Introduced by Mexican Paper

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The Mexican newspaper Unidad Nacional on October 15 carried an article titled "DPRK's struggle for achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country" illustrated with a photo of Marshal Kim Jong Un acknowledging the enthusiastic cheers of service personnel of the Korean People's Army.

The paper said that the 65-year-long history of the DPRK is the period in which it has waged a strenuous struggle to achieve the country's reunification by the concerted efforts of all Koreans under the banner of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity.

The 1970s witnessed the publication of the historic July 4 joint statement in which the three principles of national reunification were clarified, and in the 1980s and the 1990s the desire for independent reunification reached the height all over Korea.

Today the idea of "By our nation itself" serves as one common to the Korean nation desirous of the reunification of the country.
