General Secretary Kim Jong Il made sure that the contest of sampling apples was organized among fruit farms that turned into thriving orchards so as to boost the enthusiasm of producers.

Marshal Kim Jong Un visited the Kosan Fruit Farm in June this year and indicated the tasks and ways for increasing the production of fruits at the large-scale fruit farm at the foot of Chol Pass, symbol of the Songun revolutionary leadership.

The working people in the field of fruit farming planted many high-yielding fruit trees of good species and made positive efforts to manure and tend them as required by the Juche farming method.

Presented at the meeting were more than 30 species of apples picked at the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm, fruit farms in Kwail County and the Kosan, Ryongjon and Toksong fruit farms.

The jury estimated sweetness, sour taste, flavor, juice content and hardness of apples of different species.
