Overseas Koreans Slam S. Korean Regime's Closure of Progressive Paper

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The European Regional Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the Society for Cooperation among Koreans in Germany issued a joint statement on October 25 to denounce the south Korean puppet group for its moves to shut down a progressive paper.

The persistent and deliberate moves of the ultra-right conservative forces to shut down the paper Jaju Minbo as part of their campaign to suppress and stamp out thinking, conscience and freedom of expression are acts of trampling down justice and truth, the statement charged.

Their suppression of the media which conducted activities to keep the June 15 era of reunification alive is nothing but power's violence and an arrogant and self-righteous action, it held.

It urged the south Korean ruling forces to stop the anachronistic hunting of media.
