S. Korean "Government" Denounced for Suppressing Teachers Union
Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore on Thursday carried an editorial titled "'Barbarous government' outlawed Teachers Union".

The editorial said the "government" finally notified that it will deprive the Teachers Union of its qualification as a trade union.

It said it is anachronistic and illegal not to recognize the laid-off teachers as members of the trade union.

The behavior of the "government" drawing international criticism would be unthinkable without the self-righteousness and prejudice of Park Geun Hye, the editorial said, and went on:

She revealed strong hostility to the Teachers Union in December 2005 when she was the representative of the "Grand National Party".

The suppression of the union is what she inherited from her father Park Chung-Hee.

The union was established right after the April 19 incident in 1960. But the May 16 military coup forces forcefully disbanded the teachers trade union for the reason that it was critical of the "government", and laid off 1,500 teachers branding them as "pro-communists".

It is impossible to disorganize the Teacher Union although it was outlawed.

The "government" should know that it will face strong protest of all the people if it does not retract the unjust notification.
