Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade and chairman of the DPRK-Syria Friendship Association, and officials concerned.

Tammam Sulaiman said in a speech that the relations between the two countries are making steady progress under the deep care of the leaderships of the two countries.

He expressed the will to make positive efforts to develop these friendly and cooperative relations in the interests of the two peoples in the future, too.

Choe Thae Bok said in a speech:

The DPRK sets store by the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and two countries.

The DPRK will as ever extend full support and solidarity to the Syrian government and people in their just struggle to defend the sovereignty and peace of the country.
