WPK's Anniversary Observed by Nigerian Organization
Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea posted an article titled "Flag representing the people's destiny" on its website on October 17 on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

The article said:

The song "Fly High, Our Party Flag" is popular among the Korean people.

The song represents well the fact that the WPK has made a long journey of revolution, flying the party flag symbolic of the destiny of the people.

The WPK has done everything possible for the people, positively putting forward them for a long period since its founding.

There arrived a new era of history in which the popular masses emerged as a master of society and their destiny though they had been regarded as a target of oppression and rule in the past, and new politics centered on them has been pursued thanks to the WPK.

Leader Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into a mother party serving the people, the article said.

Introducing his politics of love for the people, the article went on:

The flag of the WPK fully retains its original color, remaining unshaken despite all sorts of trials of history.

The flag of the WPK fluttered higher when the red flags were lowered in various socialist countries late in the 20th century and the destiny of the people was infringed upon.

Today the flag of the WPK which has protected the destiny of the people for several decades is fluttering higher thanks to Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the WPK.
