DPRK People Enraged at U.S.-S. Korea Nuclear War Drills
Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The situation on the Korean Peninsula has entered a touch-and-go phase due to the U.S. and the puppet south Korean warmongers' reckless attempt to provoke a nuclear war against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Some days ago the U.S. nuclear carrier George Washington sailed into the West Sea of Korea after taking part in the U.S.-Japan-south Korea combined naval exercises in the East and South Seas of Korea.

The U.S. and puppet warmongers had staged several war maneuvers targeting the DPRK with the involvement of nuclear carriers in waters off the Korean Peninsula. But it is something unprecedented that the carrier was sent even to the West Sea of Korea, the biggest hotspot, for another round of war drills.

This dangerous nuclear war attempt clearly shows the U.S. assertion that it has neither hostile policy toward the DPRK nor intention to attack it is a trick to deceive the public at home and abroad.

In this regard, Kim In Chol, a department director of the DPRK Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, told KCNA:

Not content with the division of the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. has annually staged all sorts of war games for several decades, shipping into south Korea huge military equipment for attack on the DPRK.

To cope with such grave situation, the DPRK had access to nuclear deterrence to defend itself.

It is quite natural for the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to maintain the stand for countering the U.S. nuclear threat with self-defensive nuclear deterrent.

Ri Yu Song, officer of the Korean People's Army, said:

It is ridiculous that the U.S. thinks it can frighten our army and people with its nuclear carrier.

We, servicepersons, are ready to blow up the U.S. mainland as well as its nuclear carriers if it dares infringe upon our territory even a bit.
