Rodong Sinmun Slams Revival of "Yusin" Dictatorial System in S. Korea
Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- October 17, 1972, when the cursed "yusin" system was proclaimed, was a disgraceful day for the south Koreans, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an article.

It goes on:

The "October yusin" that left the whole gamut of crimes in history was a politically-motivated coup Park Chung Hee committed to establish long-term dictatorial system.

The blood-stained "yusin" dictatorship left wound in the minds of the south Koreans that can never be healed.

Tragedy is that the cursed nightmare is being revived in south Korea.

From long before taking office the conservative group asserted that "October yusin" was an inevitable and best option, openly lauding the crimes committed in the era of the "yusin" dictatorship.

As soon as they took office, they emitted venoms to turn south Korean society into the land of darkness ruled by fascist dictatorship just the way the "yusin" dictator did.

The confrontation between progressives and conservatives has reached the worst phase and the south Korean people's expectation and hope for democracy and justice have been ruthlessly dashed.

This shuddering situation in south Korea bears a close resemblance to the past era of "yusin" dictatorship notorious for its terror-ridden politics.

Furthermore, owing to the conservative group's sycophancy toward the U.S. and moves to escalate the confrontation with compatriots the south Korean people's dignity has been harshly trampled down and big hurdles lie in the road of implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The south Korean puppet group has resorted to undisguised moves to escalate the confrontation with compatriots while viciously hurting the dignity and social system of the DPRK, thus doing away with the hard-won opportunity of improving the inter-Korean relations.

They also introduced into south Korea means for a preemptive nuclear attack and staged madcap nuclear war drills against the DPRK, posing a serious threat to the peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.

The cursed history of the "yusin" fascist dictatorship is being repeated in south Korea, an unbearable humiliation for the broad spectrum of south Koreans who have carried on dynamic actions for democracy.
