The women's soccer matches of the 6th East Asian Games ended on Oct. 11.

The DPRK team defeated its Japanese rival 2-0 in the final to win the title by winning the three consecutive matches.

In Olympiad and other games, DPRK sportspersons showed not a few impressive scenes.

Rim Jong Sim, winner of the gold medal of the Olympiad in the women's 69kg category, set a new record of the games in the weightlifting event on Oct. 8.

In the meantime, Kim Un Ju, woman weightlifter, won the title in the 75kg category.

In recent years the DPRK sportspersons have proved successful in international games.

The DPRK football team took part in the 2010 World Cup and weightlifters and judoists bagged four gold medals in the London Olympics.

Kim Hyok Bong and Kim Jong won the victory in the mixed doubles of the world table tennis championship held this year.
