Construction and Rebuilding of Mushroom Production Bases Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- The projects for building and rebuilding mushroom production bases including mushroom farms are making brisk headway in the DPRK.

Those bases are economically profitable as they can massively cultivate mushroom by putting the production of spores and substrata on an industrial and scientific basis and use waste substrata for feeding livestock and manuring.

Jagang Province carried out all its work 80 percent as of mid- October by concentrating efforts on building the Kanggye Mushroom Farm with a large production capacity.

The construction of mushroom farms is also making rapid progress in South Phyongan, South Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces.

South Phyongan Province carried out its project for building the Phyongsong Mushroom Farm 70 percent while Hamhung City of South Hamgyong Province is pushing ahead with the building of walls after winding up the groundwork for mushroom farm.

Hyesan City is pressing ahead with its project as scheduled after completing the building of walls in a matter of less than 10 days.

Projects for building new mushroom farms and rebuilding the existing ones are going full steam ahead in cities and counties across the country including Tanchon City and Yonggwang, Hamju, Kumya and Thaechon counties.

Kaesong City is expanding the area of its mushroom farm 1.5 times.
