Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia Gives Its Premier Here
Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia gave its premier at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Monday on a performance tour of the DPRK.

The orchestra came to the DPRK with the numbers it had prepared with sincerity, prompted by the desire to significantly decorate this year marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the DPRK-Russia diplomatic ties.

Among the audience were Minister of Culture Pak Chun Nam, officials concerned, creators and artistes of the national art troupes, teachers and students in the field of art education.

Alexandr Timonin, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials also enjoyed the performance.

Its repertoire included female solo "Flying in the Sky over Russia", male solo "O Darling", mixed duet "Moscow" and a chorus and orchestral music "Kalinka".

A chorus and orchestral music "Forward towards Stars" composed and represented by Pavel Ovsyannikov, head and chief conductor of the orchestra, made a splendid artistic representation of the dignity and honor of the Juche-based DPRK which demonstrated the space science and technology and overall power of the country through the successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2.

The Russian artistes successfully presented Korean songs "Ardent Desire" and "Song of Comradeship", revving up the atmosphere.

They truthfully represented the Russians' ardent love for their country, their national emotion and friendly feelings towards the Koreans with a refined rendition, perfect ensemble and rich voice.

The performance was acclaimed by the audience as it was staged by famous Russian artistes including people's artistes, merited artistes and merited artists.
