DPRK Sportspersons Prove Successful at East Asian and International Games
Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- DPRK judoist Kim Sol Mi won a gold medal in the 48kg category of women's judo, and DPRK gymnast Hong Un Jong a gold medal in the long horse event of female gymnastics at the 6th East Asian Games.

Kim defeated her south Korean rival by displaying her special technique well in the final.

Hong successfully executed delicate performances requiring high techniques.

Cha Ok Song came second in the 52kg category of women's judo, Hyon Song Chol in the 66kg category of men's judo, and Ri Un Ju came third in the 57kg category of women's judo and Hong Kuk Hyon in the 73kg category of men's judo.

Ri Se Kwang took the second place in the men's rings and Kim Jin Hyok took third place in the same event.

The DPRK teams captured bronze medals in women's volleyball and women's gymnastics team competition.

Kim Hyok Bong and Ri Myong Sun respectively clinched bronze medals in men's and women's table-tennis singles. Bronze medals also went to Kim Jong and Kim Hye Song pair in the women's table-tennis doubles as well as to Kim Un Hyang in the women's all-round gymnastic competition and Ri Un Ha in the long horse event of the female gymnastics, and Kang Yong Mi in the women's uneven bars.

The DPRK shooters came third in the women's team trap at the 3rd Asian Shortgun Championship and Hong Un Jong placed third in the women's long horse event at the 44th FIG World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
