New Kind of Fine Art Preservation Agent Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- A new kind of agent has been applied to preservation of fine art pieces in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The agent was coated on some 200 Korean paintings, oil paintings and colorful paintings.

According to Kim Yon Hwan, a researcher of Pyongyang University of Printing, the agent, a fruition of nano-technology, was confirmed to help preserve fine art pieces longer than the existing one.

It makes it possible to preserve Korean paintings for over 100 years, oil paintings 400 years and colorful paintings 50 years in their original state.

It can also be used in restoring discolored pieces.

The agent was awarded with the registration certificate of the national science and technology invention.
