Organization of DR Congo Supports October 4 Declaration
Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association released a statement on October 3 on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the historic October 4 declaration.

The statement said that it is very tragic that nearly 70 years have passed since Korea with a long history spanning five thousand years and the same language and culture was divided into the north and the south by the U.S.

It disclosed that the south Korean puppet forces have followed the U.S. policy against Korea's reunification, far from making efforts to promote the reconciliation between the north and the south and reunify the country in the spirit of national independence, and that the Park Geun Hye group in the wake of the Lee Myung Bak group is going frantic with moves for confrontation with fellow countrymen.

It went on:

We extend firm solidarity to the DPRK in its steady and sincere efforts for defusing confrontation and removing the danger of a war on the Korean Peninsula and opening a new phase of reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south.

We strongly hold that the south Korean authorities should end sycophancy and treachery and opt for reunifying the country according to the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration.

We urge the U.S. to discontinue escalating the confrontation with fellow countrymen at once, withdraw its forces from south Korea as soon as possible and pursue the policy towards the DPRK to help provide favorable environment to the peace and reunification on the peninsula.
