Jong Chun Mi came first in total points by lifting 97 kg in snatch and 129 kg in jerk. She thus bagged a gold medal in the 63 kg category of women's weightlifting event held on Monday.

Woman weightlifter Kim Su Ryon placed second in the women's 53 kg category event and Kim Chun Mi finished second in the 5 000 m race, winning a silver medal.
