History of First Homeland Party Organization Remembered
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Turu Hill, located in Onsong County, North Hamgyong Province, is associated with the undying feats President Kim Il Sung performed in forming the first homeland party organization and guiding a meeting of political workers and heads of underground revolutionary organizations.

In the wake of having formed the Society for Rallying Comrades in July Juche 19 (1930), a parent body of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Il Sung made big efforts to form party organizations under the society in the northern areas of Korea along the River Tuman and Manchuria.

As part of the efforts, he convened a meeting on Turu Hill on October 1, 1930 to announce the formation of a party organization, the first of its kind in the homeland at that time.

At the meeting, he delivered a historic speech "On the Immediate Tasks of the Homeland Party Organization", setting forth the tasks for the party organization in Onsong area.

Kim Il Sung in his reminiscences "With the Century" said: "The formation of a party organization in the Onsong area was the start of the laying of the foundation for party building and an important turning point in promoting the anti-Japanese struggle of the people in the homeland."

The formation of the first homeland party organization was of great significance in building up a basis of the WPK founded after the country's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule and leading the anti-Japanese struggle for national liberation to victory.
