Japan Should Drop Ambition for Reinvasion: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The governor of Kyoto Prefecture, Japan recently expressed his willingness to introduce an early warning radar of the U.S. forces into the region. Meanwhile, the mayor of Takashima, Japan clarified the stand that as the serving mayor he is not opposed to the Japan-U.S. joint drill to be staged with the involvement of MV-22 Osprey of the U.S. Marines. This brought to a temporary pause the contended radar and the drill issues between Japan and the U.S.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a commentary in this regard:

The Japanese authorities accepted the U.S. demand in disregard of the Japanese people's mindset, an indication to realize the ambition for turning Japan into a military giant and making reinvasion with the backing of the U.S. at the sacrifice of the security and interests of their people.

It is the invariable ambition of the Japanese militarists to invade Asia with armed forces and revive the past "imperial era". To this end, they have given spurs to turning Japan into a military giant. They have bolstered armed forces and increased the military capability of the "Self-Defense Forces", crying out for "military role" as befits an "economic power" in the international arena. They have mass-produced and deployed military hardware, launched military satellites and pushed ahead with the establishment of MD by allotting a huge amount of funds.

Reinvasion will lead Japan to self-destruction. It is seriously mistaken if it thinks it can realize the sordid ambition with the help of a big country.

It had better drop the foolish ambition for reinvasion.
