Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government will actively join the G-77 in the common efforts to establish new international economic relations on the basis of justice, equality and impartiality in the future, too. The DPRK delegate said this in his speech at the annual meeting of foreign ministers of the G-77 on Thursday.

He said that the developing countries have made continuous efforts to achieve the internationally agreed development goals including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and registered many successes in the course.

But, big challenges still lie ahead of the developing countries to abolish poverty and achieve sustainable economic development, he said, and went on:

The situation requires the G-77 to strengthen common efforts more than ever before to tide over the difficulties and challenges lying ahead of the developing countries and create favorable condition and circumstances for economic and social development.

Due attentions should be directed to the following issues in formulating the common stand of the G-77 on the major economic and social problems including the post-2015 development agenda to be discussed in the 68th UN General Assembly.

First, top priority should be given to protecting and ensuring sovereignty and right to develop of the developing countries.

Second, substantial measures should be taken for establishment of the fair international economic relations.

Third, South-South cooperation should be activated.

Now under way in the DPRK is a vigorous drive to build an economic power, an advanced and highly civilized nation on the basis of knowledge-based economy in the near future under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The DPRK's efforts for economic construction will be a significant contribution to the efforts of the international community to achieve the MDGs and other development goals already agreed worldwide as well as sustainable development.
