DPRK Wrestling Champion Warmly Welcomed by Pyongyang Citizens
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Yun Won Chol, a wrestler of the DPRK, returned home after winning a gold medal in the 2013 World Wrestling Championship held in Hungary.

He held the title in the Greco-roman 55kg class by defeating all his rivals with technical and tactical advantages.

He proved successful in the international wrestling tournament "Dan Kolov-Nikolai Petrov" and the 2013 Asian Wrestling Championship this year.

In the meantime, DPRK wrestler So Sim Hyang took the third place in the women's 51kg freestyle event.

Pyongyang Railway Station was in welcome mood Thursday to greet them.

The wrestlers were warmly welcomed by Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade who serves as chairman of the Wrestling Association of the DPRK, Colonel General of the Korean People's Army O Kum Chol and officials concerned and sportspersons.

Sportspersons put fragrant garlands around the necks of Yun and his coach and presented them with bunches of flowers, warmly congratulating them on their success.

Pyongyang citizens welcomed and congratulated Yun, who had the flag of the DPRK hoisted in a foreign country, in streets and from balconies of their houses.

He visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and placed bunches of flowers before them to pay tribute.
