Kim Jong Suk's Feats for Nation Building
Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- The proud history of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is associated with the great exploits of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero.

After Korea's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule, she visited different parts of the country to encourage people from all walks of life in building new Korea.

At the various meetings with popular masses, including round-table talks organized by the Chongjin City People's Committee in December Juche 34 (1945), she told them about President Kim Il Sung's exploits for Korea's liberation and his idea on nation building. And she saw to it that urgent problems arising in building a new country and people's demands were reported to the President.

Under her deep care, revolutionary literary and art works and publications were created or issued to make the whole country seethe with patriotic zeal. They include "Song of General Kim Il Sung", an immortal revolutionary hymn carrying the people's deep reverence for the President, and the first drama in liberated Korea "Mt. Paektu" and feature film "My Home Village".

Kim Jong Suk made big efforts to building a Juche-based regular army.

She visited Pyongyang Institute, a military academy, more than 30 times and personally conducted trial firing of the first home-made submachine gun.

In the days when such democratic reforms were enforced as the agrarian reform, the nationalization of major industries and the law on sex equality, she always went among workers, peasants and women to call upon them to work innovations in production as the masters of the country.

In 1947 alone, she visited many industrial establishments, including the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory and the Pyongyang Silk Mill (at that time), to inspire the workers to the general ideological mobilization movement for nation building and the emulation drive for increased production.

She also worked heart and soul to ensure the training of national cadres and lay a solid foundation for the nation's educational development. She raised the pencil problem to the President in time so that it could be discussed at the First Session of the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea. And her devoted efforts were associated with the foundation of Kim Il Sung University.

Kim Jong Suk's great feats for the building of a new country and prosperity of the DPRK will remain forever in the history of the nation.
