National Martial Art Championship Goes On in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- The 8th National Martial Art Championship for September 10 Prize is going on before full houses here from September 12.

The championship, involving Taekwon-Do, Paduk (Go), Wushu and other events, brought together hundreds of men and women players from Pyongyang and provinces of the country.

On September 13 there were men and women's sparring matches of Taekwon-Do, divided into Group A and B, and Wushu matches. Whenever Taekwon-Do players performed movements of high technique, the spectators gave enthusiastic cheers to them.

Meanwhile, Paduk competitions are made at the Taekwon-Do Holy Center, with the attendance of more than 120 players of different ages.

The ongoing championship, which is held every year to mark September 10 when President Kim Il Sung gave field guidance to the Taekwon-Do Hall in Juche 81 (1992), is helpful to promoting the development of the nation's martial art.

The competitions will run until Wednesday.
