Rodong Sinmun Slams Japan's Intention to Acquire Right to Collective Self-defense
Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- The Japanese government would be well advised to stop such foolish act as inviting misfortune, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in an article.

It goes on:

Japan sustained a defeat after invading various Asian countries and provoking the Pacific war but it is now becoming evermore desperate in its efforts to acquire the right to collective self-defense.

The Japanese government is expanding the scope of reexamining the interpretation of the Constitution.

It is mulling stepping up the reexamination of the interpretation of the Constitution in a bid to justify the exercise of the right to collective self-defense under the pretext that Japan's security environment has become serious due to "north Korea's successful test-fire of long-range ballistic missile", "Chinese Navy's intensified advance into ocean," etc.

The difference between the ongoing move of the Japanese government and its past one is that it is aimed to allow the exercise of that right in all aspects, not in a limited scope. Herein lies the gravity of the development.

The real aim sought by the present Japanese government in its move to fully exercise the right to collective self-defense is to realize the ambition to turn Japan into a military giant with the backing of the U.S. and reinvade Asian countries.

If Japan stages military actions in the northeast Asian region together with the U.S., they will deteriorate the regional situation. Japan's Self-Defense Forces are capable of advancing not only into Northeast Asia but into the Asia-Pacific region and fighting a war without difficulty.

Japan is emerging new aggressor forces arousing caution and concern of the world.

If the Japanese government follows in the footsteps of the past aggressors, it will lead Japan to a total ruin.
