Present there on invitation were Ali Moradi, general secretary of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, Attila Adamfi, competition director of the International Weightlifting Federation, their members and the teams from various countries and regions.

Also attending it were Vice-premier Kim Yong Jin, chairman of the national preparatory committee for the Championship, Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee who doubles as chairman of the organizing committee for the Championship, Ri Jong Mu, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, and officials concerned.
