Construction of Unha Scientists Street Completed
Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- There sprang up modern Unha Scientists Street covering a vast area in the suburbs of Pyongyang.

The street built at a high level is a gift supreme leader Kim Jong Un presented to the scientists and technicians who are glorifying Songun Korea with their latest scientific research successes.

The street represents a standard and model of the construction of apartment houses in the Songun era. The street made up of 21 blocks of multi-storied apartment houses for more than 1 000 families has a school, hospital, nursery, kindergarten and other public buildings and children's park, small parks and welfare service facilities in 16 places.

Kim Jong Un, looking round the street, was greatly pleased that scientists came to receive benefits of the thriving state before any others as they are to be provided with modern flats under the care of the party. He extended thanks to the builders, on behalf of the Central Committee of the WPK.

An inaugural ceremony of the street was held on Wednesday.

Present at the ceremony were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior officials of the party, state and army, officials concerned and service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, and officials and builders and those scientists and technicians who are to live in the new flats.

Pak Pong Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made an inaugural speech.

He emphasized the need to regard it as main objective of construction to build dwelling houses and rest houses for personnel in the fields of science and education in the future as intended by Kim Jong Un and implement the party's idea of attaching importance to science and technology.

He called upon the officials and workers in charge of the management and the operation of those apartment houses, public buildings and welfare service facilities in the street to manage and operate all buildings and facilities in a responsible manner by embodying Kim Jong Il's patriotism to make sure that the party's love for people reaches the scientists and technicians before anyone else.

He called upon those scientists and technicians to achieve more fresh successes in their scientific researches to repay with more latest scientific successes the love and trust of Kim Jong Un, who provided modern dwelling houses and highly civilized and happy living conditions to them.

Pak cut the ribbon for the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the street.
